Air Fryer Chicken (Printable)

Crispy, juicy air-fryer chicken breasts seasoned with paprika, garlic and thyme—ready in 30 minutes.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Poultry

01 - 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 5 oz each)

→ Marinade

02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon paprika
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

# Directions:

01 - Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to ensure even seasoning adhesion and optimal browning.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and ground black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
03 - Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and turn to coat evenly with the marinade. Let rest for 5 minutes at room temperature, or marinate up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor penetration.
04 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
05 - Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd—cook in batches if necessary to allow proper air circulation.
06 - Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken breasts using tongs and continue cooking for another 8–10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and juices run clear.
07 - Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let rest for 3 minutes before slicing and serving to allow juices to redistribute.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • The spice rub creates a crust that tastes like you spent hours when you barely spent minutes.
  • Cleanup is basically nonexistent since nothing sticks to the air fryer basket.
02 -
  • Crowding the basket was my biggest mistake early on and the chicken steamed instead of getting that golden crust.
  • Flipping halfway through is nonnegotiable because the top and bottom heat differently in most air fryers.
03 -
  • Take the chicken out of the fridge fifteen minutes before cooking so it cooks evenly all the way through.
  • A meat thermometer is the single tool that transformed my chicken from sometimes dry to always perfect.
