01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt until well blended.
03 - In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer or whisk.
04 - Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract and mashed bananas until fully incorporated.
05 - Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture in batches, alternating with milk. Begin and end with dry ingredients. Stir only until just combined to avoid overmixing.
06 - Gently fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
07 - Transfer batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
08 - Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
