Banana Nice Cream (Printable)

Creamy frozen dessert made from blended frozen bananas. Naturally sweet, dairy-free, and ready in minutes.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Base

01 - 3 large ripe bananas, peeled and sliced into 1-inch rounds

→ Optional Add-ins

02 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
03 - 1–2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
04 - 2 tbsp nut butter (almond or peanut recommended)
05 - Fresh berries, chopped nuts, or dark chocolate chips for topping

# Directions:

01 - Peel the bananas and cut them into 1-inch rounds. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours until completely solid.
02 - Transfer the frozen banana slices to a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend until creamy and smooth, pausing occasionally to scrape down the sides.
03 - If using vanilla extract, cocoa powder, or nut butter, add them now and blend again until fully incorporated.
04 - Serve immediately for a soft-serve consistency, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer scoopable texture.
05 - Top with fresh berries, chopped nuts, or dark chocolate chips as desired.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It tastes genuinely indulgent but is literally just bananas, so you can eat it for breakfast without a second thought.
  • Cleanup is almost nonexistent since there is barely any equipment involved.
  • You can dress it up a hundred different ways depending on what is lurking in your pantry.
02 -
  • If you try to blend bananas that are not fully frozen you will get a smoothie instead of ice cream, which is still tasty but not the goal.
  • Underripe bananas will taste starchy and bland, so wait until the peel is heavily spotted or mostly brown.
03 -
  • Keep a permanent bag of frozen banana slices in your freezer so nice cream is always ten minutes away.
  • A pinch of salt blended in at the end makes the sweetness taste surprisingly more complex.
